Wordpress guy is one month old

This blog has been up and running for one month now. The first post went live on 21st March 2007, following a couple of days of ‘Hello World’, technorati claim posts, and theme tinkering. I thought now would be a good time to thank everyone who has been so encouraging along the way, and to share some statistics with those who may be interested. I know I always find stats posts interesting.

Firstly, the thankyous

I’ve been really lucky with the group of people who have actively participated in WordPressGuy over the past month. The best thank you in the blogosphere is always a backlink, so here you go guys! (If I missed you, I’m sorry, blame this neat plugin, I was lazy!)

And, some stats

I monitor the stats on this blog using a combination of Google analytics, feedburner and 103bees.com. The broad numbers are as follows:

I think these are pretty good numbers from a standing start for a nichey blog. I might post more detail when I crunch them some more.

Congrats on the first month online, and thanks also for the mention. That’s an impressive traffic spike on 14 April - did you get a Digg or something?

Well done for making it through a whole month without losing it! ;)

I look forward to being a regular reader!

Well done. I must say it’s a very clean and uncluttered site; I like it.

    Thanks guys.
The traffic spike was around the review of the itheme (http://wordpressguy.com/2007/04/themes-itheme/) which got stumbleuponed. A Digg spike can be this second months challenge.

Happy Month-iversary! Keep up the great work! Oh, and good luck with getting Dugg, too.

Good stuff Steve. Those are decent numbers to kick off with. I was checking out the SEOmoz tool the other day. It’s pretty cool.

Hey there!! Great site you have here! I know you’ve been to my site as well - -if you notice, I have a problem with claiming my blog on Technorati. Would you happen to know if I have done something wrong to enable this to happen? Or do you know of any tricks and tips that would solve this issue? This would be a really really great entry and I would so much appreciate it!!

Here’s the entry that I have..

Hi chuvachienes, I’ve dropped some tips onto your blog - if they don’t work let me know.

hey thanks!! trying them all now - - tried to re-create my account at technorati with a different email.. still can’t claim the blog.. i was thinking it may have been how i set up my subdomain versus root domain at my hosting company.. would you know the difference in setting up the blog in a subdomain and assigning a separate domain to it? (i.e. www.maindomain.com/subdomain - - assigning www.newdomain.com) - - probably confusing..

Hey there!! Thanks very much!! They finally resolved the issue. I received an answer to my support ticket today stating that my domain was flagged for review (spam i guess). They re-released the spiders and unflagged my domain - - my blog has now been able to be claimed once again! Thanks for trying to help~! I guess it was really out of our control until they act on their end. Cheers!
